I plan to run as an Independent candidate for Mullingar LEA for Westmeath County Council in the upcoming elections in June 2024.

I am a Recruitment Consultant from Mullingar. I grew up in the Ballinea hinterland outside Mullingar on a farm. I am a graduate of the Franciscan college of Agriculture with a qualification in Horticulture, Multyfarnham (1997), DCU Bachelor of Religious Education and History (2012) and DBS Post grad certificate in Innovation and managment (2015), I also have a number of other qualifiations in training and Human Resources. I was involved in a variety of community and voluntary work over the last 25 years with the Open door centre, Westmeath Volunteers, The Peoples movement, Fine Gael and varous other charities doing walks and fundraising.

I have always had a big interest in Politics and I was a long time supporter of Fine Gael and some times member. More recently due to my anti EU stance and being an advocate for an Irexit, I was involved with the Irish Freedom Party. Indeed I have been a supporter of all of the Nationalist parties and movements that that emerged over the last 10 years or so. I campaigned against the Nice and Lisbon treaties and against most of the proposed changes to the constitution over the years. In 2023 I was one of the leaders of the Protests against using Columb barracks as male migrant accommodation. I was a founder of Mullingar Says No and the main admin of the facebook group which has had over 1700 member over the last year. I was an organiser of up to 15 Protests which occurred mainly between February and April of 2023, with a further one in November 2023 in Mullingar. I mainly worked alongside Elaine Farrell and Alacoque Maguire in this organising. I am proud to have been the first man in Mullingar to speak out publicly on the issue of Mass Immigration and the bringing in of male migrants to columb barracks. I'm proud that I took a stand. (Especially when ALL of the local TD's and Councilors were supportive of the governments plans or stayed quiet, including and especially Sinn Fein, who are supposed to be the opposition)

I had been briefly a member of the Irish Freedom Party and I resigned so that I could be a non partizan Independent voice in speaking on behalf of Mullingar Says No. I begun to talk about possibly running for local election as an Independent as I feel that the local people would actually support an Independent on this issue. I have a group of local advisors and colleagues who are supportive and we work together.

My Priorities and local policies include:

  • Immigration - I am against mass Immigration into Ireland. I am only in favour of sustainable legal Immigration. Locally I oppose the use of Columb barracks as migrant accommodation. Almost all of the male Migrants housed there should be deported.

  • Columb Barracks - The Barracks should be given back fully to the people of Mullingar, The CBRRC should be resumed and all of the groups brought back to the barracks, It could be used as a community hub. I would propose not working with IPAS anymore on Immigration.

  • Housing - Irish people should be prioritized on all housing lists, Increased funding for homelessness in Westmeath.

  • Agriculture and Environment - Support for farmers and growers and sensible environmental policies

  • Heath services / Mental health - a big emphasis on mental health, suicide etc, more programmes and funding locally.

  • Education - Prioritize local pupils for school and bus places, more funding for adult education and initiatives

  • More funding for residents associations, security measures for homes and the community, empahsis on crime prevention and detection

  • Traffic in Mullingar - Put a roundabout back in at McDonalds junction in the middle of town, Proper sequencing of Traffice lights in town, remove the one way on Mount street, undo some of the fleadh street scaping.

  • No special treatment for Ukrainians, They should be treated the same as IPAS candidates and neither of them Ukrainian or Asylum seekers, should be permanently housed before the local Irish or anyone on housing lists for years, end that stinking coruption.

  • Community lead approach to politics (rather than party or big business), ordinary local grass roots voices to be heard and listened to. I will work closely with local people and in an organised manner, where all voices are heard.
